Thailand

Yes, yes, we are back in the blogger's world after a looong break. For those of you who still bother checking for updates - bless you! To give you a brief update we arrived in Bangkok about a month and a half ago. To get there from Siem Riep we had to travel the not so much travelled road that, from what we heard, involved getting ripped off, robbed and left abandoned at the side of the road. Being Cambodia no one will actually tell you the best way to do stuff, they'll tell you the way which they'll make money off. We got there in one piece anyway without going through any of the above.

We decided to splurge a bit after a few days in a fan room so we found a hotel in the backpacker district with a roof top pool...yes, yes, we are flashpackers!

We got to see all the tourist attractions, enjoy the riverboats and we found the best Pina Colada in the entire universe, so all in all it's recommended!

Yes, I love sightseeing; David!

After about a week in the big city it was time to venture out to the ocean again. Our main goal was Phi Phi Don Island in Krabi. On the way there we stopped at Little Norway, or Hua Hin as some might call it. We got to read some Norwegian newspapers and admire the Royal family in every shop window along the street. Weird....

The trip to Phi Phi was pretty hassle free although I did puke on the way over in the ferry. At that time I thought that was pretty bad but that was before I knew better.

For the first time since Tioman we felt like we'd found paradise! This perfect little island in the middle of the sea where everything is so chilled out. I can't start to explain how happy we were that we decided to go here!

After two days of enjoying life on the beach I decided to really treat David to a special meal at a place I had found online. It was a small charming place called H.C. Andersen where they were serving Scandinavian food. The meatballs were a bit pricey but we decided to splurge for just that one night.
8 hours later our decision came back to haunt us. The next two days were spent in bed puking and pooing. The third day we had to get up, as our boat was taking us back to the mainland. Just our luck a storm was blowing up when we were leaving so that didn't make things easier.

Me dying on the boat with all the old lads.
Back on the mainland we still struggled with the food poisoning for about a week or that after it happened. So for anyone heading to Phi Phi, stay away from that place!

Now this was the beginning of the end for us. After a week or so in Phuket we headed back to Bangkok and spent our final days drinking cocktails and buying frogs and waving cats. When the plane took off we felt ready to enter a brand new continent with new adventures!

Who says that we fall into tourist traps??

Angkor Wat

We've never been mad for the sightseeing, ask anyone who knows us, but this time around we pulled ourselves together and made ourselves jump out of bed at 4 in the morning to go see the sun rise over Angkor Wat. Was it worth it? Sure.
A very enthusiastic tuk-tuk driver brought us around the place taking naps in the shade while we were slaving around, climbing mountains of stones with kids laughing at us cause ¨you sweat so much!we think this cold!¨

The place is absolutely amazing though and if you have any interest at all in religion it's a must-see. And of course the main attraction of them all: the place they filmed Lara Croft-Tomb Raider!
